HORDLE WOMENS INSTITUTE

Meet on the first Tuesday in the month at the WI Hall in Ashley Lane Hordle at 2.15pm.

  We have a good range of speakers , demonstrations and a competition at our meetings.

A Craft Section meets weekly and we are hoping to restart our drama and choir group.

We also have Spring and Christmas Fairs.

Many members enter the WI section of The New Forest Show. Pub Lunches and Outings are also regularly arranged.

We are a happy and busy Institute.

HORDLE FLOWER CLUB

The object of the Flower Club is to encourage the art and enjoyment of all aspects of Flower Arranging.

Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at The Pavilion Vaggs Lane Hordle at 7.30 pm

unless otherwise stated.

We have Practice Evenings, Demonstrations, Workshops and Exhibitions.

In addition we hold Coffee Mornings, Garden/Nursery Visits and Barbeques.

We invite you to join and support some of the Club’s various activities.

Do you require transport to attend a medical appointment or need medical items collected? If so then Hordle Voluntary Care Group would like to help you. We have a team of drivers that will pick you up from home, take you to your appointment and return you to your home afterwards. All you need to do is call our Coordinator, Margaret, on 0845 388 9063. Please leave a message if she is not available to answer the phone and she will get back to you.

Please give as much notice as possible as this is more likely to enable us to find a driver for you.

We also provide transport to the ‘bathing service’ at the St John’s Ambulance HQ on the Gordleton Industrial Estate. Again please contact Margaret for more information.

We are still looking at increasing our pool of drivers and would like to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to assist. If you can spare a couple of hours a week, at a time and day to suit you, then please get in touch by telephoning our Secretary, Ian Chislett-Bruce on 01425 614174 or by email hordle.care@btinternet.com.

Hordle Twinning Association, Community Care, W.I., Cricket, Photography, Gardening, Flower Arranging, Allotments, Guides &c., are Affiliated to the Community Association and as such each have a Representative on the Executive Committee.

 Meetings are convened through an Executive Committee organising  events including  a Festival Week which is held in the last week of August.

                         Our main objective is to build an all purpose community hall for the village. We meet at various venues as and when.

Events are published in the Hordle Community News, Notice Boards & Local Shops etc.

                      Charges: Yearly charge is :- £1 single, £2 family, £5 clubs and organizations, Junior Organisations £2.

Every Tuesday and Saturday at 2.00 pm a small group

of enthusiasts play boules at the Hordle Recreation Ground.

It is all about some good spirited fun.

irregular (we do have spare sets of boules for beginners).

Hordle Spurs are a rapidly expanding football club trying to cope with the demands of local boys between the ages of seven and sixteen wanting to play youth football. We also have one men's team and have a total of over 150 registered players.

As a club we are looking for committed reliable people to get involved with some of our youth teams, helping with regular training sessions.

Activities

The Memorial Hall has excellent facilities: on the ground floor, with easy access, we have the large Rosoman Hall, with attached kitchen, suitable for children’s parties and large gatherings; on the upper floor we have a smaller, more intimate, room, again with attached kitchen, suitable for smaller gatherings, meetings, baptism parties, committees, and courses. The entire building can be booked for weddings receptions by prior arrangement. Please contact the Church Office, Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 12.00 for enquiries and Hall bookings, 01425-626565.

For other activities of interest to the Village there are the following;-

Tuesdays am & pm:- Little Angels: 6 months to 5 years, am 10.30 – 12.00 . pm 1.30 – 3.00.

Wednesday pm :- Messy Church: A fun activity, provided by the Church, for years 2 – 6 of Hordle Primary School: Leaders, Viv Binns, 01425-611379, and Sheila Slattery. As this is a very popular activity, please contact Viv before hand. Weekly meetings, during term time, with Craft, bible moment, and lots of Fun.

Thursday a.m. :- Music Bugs: Fun, lively, interactive music and singing classes for children aged 6 months - 4years. Classes are 40 minutes long. They are at All Saints Memorial Hall, during term time. For more information, or to book a trial session, please call Jo on 0844 578 1042.

Friday :- Term time, 9.00 – 10.00 in the upper room or the Memorial Hall

Coffee Pot: - A Church initiative in support of parents, and carers (plus pre-school children), of Hordle school. Run by the Hordle Church Coffee Pot Team. Please contact Viv Binns, 01425- 611378

Cheeky Monkeys:-  9.30am – 3.00pm. Soft play for under fives in the Memorial Hall. Come and have a drink and a chat while the children bounce.

1st Thursday at 12 noon, All Saints Luncheon Club, in the Church Hall

The Luncheon Club provides a hot lunch for Senior Citizens. Come along to enjoy company, chat, and fellowship - especially those who are more housebound or live alone. Transport can be provided for those who need it. Due to the popularity of this activity, attendance is by membership only.
